Foundation Certificate in Equine Assisted Services (Internationally recognised – CPD accredited and externally validated)
Are you:
- A professional working in a people-supporting field such as mental health, counselling, psychotherapy, social work, youth work, or coaching?
- Someone who already works with horses—like a riding instructor, equine bodyworker, or trainer—and wants to bring your skills into therapeutic or learning environments?
- Interested in creating more meaningful and connected relationships with horses?
Curious about why equine wellbeing is essential for ethical, effective equine-assisted learning and therapy? - Looking to develop the business and practice skills to establish a sustainable equine-assisted services practice?
- Seeking personal growth and a sense of belonging within a professional, values-based community with a shared commitment to horse and human welfare?
This Level 2 Foundation Certificate (QQI Level 4 Equivalent) also serves as the entry point to our internationally accredited Level 4 and Level 5 Diplomas in Equine Assisted Services.
The Level 4 Diploma offers eligibility to become a Registered Practitioner with the Athena Herd Foundation (international recognition), and for UK-based practitioners, meets the requirements for listing on the first nationally regulated register for animal-assisted services under the Professional Standards Authority (UK).
The Level 4 Diploma is also a prerequisite for our Level 7 Postgraduate Certificate.
🧠 This course is worth 42 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and is validated for 3 CEUs by the ACCPH.
🌏 Suitable for Irish practitioners, this course offers global relevance and community support—wherever you’re based.
